Future Plans

The Dar-ul-Shafqat Shahjehani and Bilqisia Nursing Home are the only organized homes for destitute and orphan Muslim children within Bhopal and the surrounding areas. As such, there is a pressing need for expansion of the present facilities. The Society has 2.74 acres of land under its name, but, unfortunately, a major portion of this land has been illegally occupied. Court cases have been lodged against these encroachments, but the progress has been agonizingly slow.

However, there is still enough land under the Society's control to develop a number of facilities for the inmates and increase the residential area.

The future plans of the Society can be summarized as follows :

To increase the residential capacity of both the Boys' and the Girls' sections by constructing buildings within the Society's premises for this purpose

To further develop the in-house school and impart quality education to all inmates

To encourage the inmates to pursue higher studies and to bear all expenses of this education

To establish Vocational Training Centres for the inmates in various trades
